The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is such a great beer.

Sierra Nevada posts the recipe for their pale ale online so homebrewers can try to replicate it themselves. That’s how you know you’ve made something iconic, when encouraging others to copy what you’ve made is more enticing than protecting your ip.

My goal was to have something close to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on draft at my house for the summer. I had the same goal three summers ago, but created an oxidized turd instead of a refreshing pale ale. This time, however, I succeeded.

*Next time I make this beer, I’m going to ratchet back the crystal malts even more. Probably only do 5% of the grist.
